The Day the Earth Stood Still Film Short Story :
Dr. Helen Benson is summoned to a military office with a few different researchers when an outsider shuttle of sorts touches base in New York City. On board is a human-like outsider and a monster robot of huge size and power. The outsider distinguishes himself as Klaatu and says he has come to spare the Earth. The US military and political powers consider him to be a risk notwithstanding and choose to utilize supposed escalated cross examination methods on him yet Dr. Benson chooses to encourage his getaway. When she realizes precisely what he implies when he says he is there to spare the Earth, she tries to persuade him to change his goals.
